Money Worries?

Everyone on this site wants to help people, but limited finances are a constant problem. Money buys freedom and options, but schools are not teaching us how to effectively make or manage it. There is nothing wrong with making money as long as we are responsible with it.

While trying to start a program to help teenagers from low income families escape poverty, I discovered that most teenagers need help acquiring these skills. To address this problem, I am trying to start a fun financial and business magazine for teenagers that will include articles written by teens, college students, and successful business leaders. Student news bureaus could be started around the country or world, which would pair business mentors with students to research and write articles. I think this would be a great opportunity to help teens from all walks of life. There are not any good money magazines for our generation. The magazine would not be limited to just money. Issues like selecting a first car, dealing with credit cards, interviewing for a job and a host of other issues could be covered. It would be a fun guide to living a better life, both in the present and future. Nothing says finance and business must be boring. It can be cool while helping us to achieve financial independence. I strongly believe that teenagers can be both financially successful and socially responsible with some additional business skills.

If you are tired of struggling to fund your projects, worried about paying for college, or concerned about poverty, now is the time to make a difference. So what can you do to help? Please let me know what you think about money and business or if you are even interested in these subjects. Any thoughts or suggestions you could provide about the magazine idea would be an immense help.

TeenAmbition - Online Magazine Launch

Thank you to everyone who offered advice or help. I just launched www.TeenAmbition.org and would welcome your feedback. Visit my website or Do Something project posting, http://www.dosomething.org/node/62423, for more information.

I Appreciate Your Support

Thank you for your interest in the magazine. I am working on the pilot issue at the moment and have lined up some contributors, but I would welcome more involvement.

My goal for the magazine is to help teenagers become successful personally, professionally, and financially. I want people to dream big and follow their passions. The financial and other business related skills are really just tools for facilitating success. I do not want a lack of these skills to hold people back. Young people are capable of so much and I believe the magazine can help unlock this enormous potential.

This is something every teen needs (maybe even some 20 somethings, too) Don't wait for somebody to give you money, start researching and make some phone calls, you'll be amazed at how many people want to help!! Good Luck!
