The Pragmatic Art: of Sarah McLachlan.

Global Extreme Poverty

"The world is on fire It's more than I can handle." These are lyrics from Sarah McLachlan's song "World on Fire." Surely the facts of current world conditions give witness to tired and heated times. With $150,000 that is typically spent to make a music video, Sarah used it globally to help people in need. In so doing she brought attention to how money that is routinely and generously spent on an artistic project can go much further by giving it to those who need it for daily life. "The more we take the less we become The fortune of one man means less for some." You can watch her music video here: www.worldonfire.ca This video and the song's lyrics bring up the reality of world inequality. They also bring up the reality of our world being filled with fear and strain, and of people having the desire to do something yet realizing that we can only do so much. May we all exercise the beauty of helping another, and may it always bring us so close to reality that we modestly acknowledge that still something more is needed. --- Everyone deserves to know why. Yes I agree with you, Sarah's song is excellent! And what she did was an extremely good deed! Smiling
