In the movie Hotel Rwanda, a discussion was being had about news footage showing people being massacred with machetes in Rwanda, Africa. The discussion focused on whether or not the world would care. A certain line from the film brings up a very important concern: “I think if people see this footage, they'll say, “Oh, my God, that's horrible.†And then they'll go on eating their dinners.†The character who spoke this line was from the "West," where materialism and individual ambitions are strong. Do you think the quotation from this movie is accurate? Do we really consider people--all people--as members of our family? Do we remember them? How quickly would we forget if someone from our immediate family was murdered, with a machete, with senseless hatred? How quickly would we forget if someone from our family died because they were deprived of food even though there was plenty to feed them? Even having their food thrown in the garbage because everyone else couldn't finish it all. Who really is our family? In our hearts? Have we forgotten? Just Know Why

Re: Family Memory
It's interesting how people react. Most people deny that fact, but it is very common and I think it includes the majority of the people. Many people do see the problem, but don't do anything unless it effects them in some way. Many people don't consider themselves linked to others around the world. We need to remember that we're all linked somehow whether it's through our ancestors, clients, etc. We are all on this world and we all need to help one another if we're going to survive. People who die with such terror, we see it and deny or we see and don't care, or we say we'd like to help, but we're too busy. It's all the same. It's like this. People make time to do homework, make time to play and relax. If you can do this, make time to help out!!!
