In July 1985 a group of humanitarians and musicians organized the Live Aid concert to raise funds for the poor and hungry in Ethiopia. In July 2005 there was another concert organized called Live 8, with the purpose of promoting justice rather than charity. In 2005, on the website of the charity Band Aid, this startling quote was published: "Twenty years after we sang for change, it's changed for the worse." Why did things get worse after twenty years of effort? Has the world gotten better since 1985? Or even, say, 1993? Let's please try to gather the evidence of the world getting better. Please share your evidence. And if the evidence isn't there, then where is the justice? Just Know Why

Things that are going on in
Things that are going on in the world may be horrible, but remember that you have the power to change them. Trying raising money to build a school or send medical supplies to Africa. There are plenty of things we can do to get our world in better condition!

Stay optimistic! We've done a lot in the past 14 years!!! We're trying to solve global warming, we at do something are fighting our causes and supporting others who are fighting their dream and making a difference in people's lives. Yes, there's lots to do, but we've done a lot. We're helping Africa get on its feet, and so much more!!! Stay optimistic and we'll get there!!! We need to stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Years and Resolutions
It makes it hard to combat a starvation and justice problem like the one in Etheopia because their population is growing around 1% a year. Just to put that in perspective, the US is only growing at around 0.2% (I think. I can't remember the exact numbers). Then, there's the AIDS epidemic, which is wiping out the adults, leaving no one to work or care for the children or the seniors. To make things worse: the government isn't particularly stable.
The problem is more complicated than I explained, but something needs to be done! There is strength in numbers. One piece of evidence the world's getting better: I learned all this in my history class. Schools are no longer pretending everything's hunky-dory all around the world. And everything isn't okay around the world: blood diamonds, apartheid, fair trade coffee, government instability, rapid population growth, AIDS, civil war, hardly the definition of "fine!" Yes, something must be done, and then we may present evidence that the world is improving, for we are the bringers of justice. Only one question remains: will we decide to carry that torch that will change the world?
