After decades of Hank Aaron's career home run record of 755, Barry Bonds finally broke it last night. It is quite an accomplishment for any player as this is one of the most recognized and respected record in all of sports. However, many claim Barry Bonds took performance enhancing drugs in the latter half of his career to give him an edge.
While I think he is a great baseball player, I wonder if taking steroids helped him bang out a few more homers. If you look closely at pictures, you can tell that he has gained significant weight in his 22 year career. He went from a skinny base stealing outfielder to a slow-moving power hitter.

See the difference? What is your opinion on this issue? Is he cheating? Does he deserve to be the record holder for most home runs?

Uncanny...
The change is significant. It might be body building, but jeez, I definately wouldn't rule steriods, etc out.
tough call
Unfortunately it seems like performance enhancing drugs are the new standard for the sport. If the league doesn't intend to punish everyone on an equal level it doesn't seem fair to take Bond's records away.
While it does seem a shame to compare him to someone like Hank who was obviously not using anything illegal, it is also true that pitchers have gotten A LOT better since then (due to college athletics & drugs).
