The Problem
We are helping our local shelter dogs by making them delicious, homemade treats.
Why It's Important
Our club of about 30 kids will bake a large amount of dog treats that can be frozen and kept fresh for our local shelter. Treats are not only a good way to feed the dogs, but they help the dogs' moods and can be used in training.
The Plan Of Action
We will gather all the ingredients and have a big baking party. We hope to make an abundance of treats so that the shelter can freeze them and have them for a good amount of time.

Project Updates

Update: The whole club got together a little over a month ago, and we made some treats using an extremely easy recipe that consisted of peanut butter, cornmeal, oatmeal, and a few other little things. It only took about ten minutes to prepare the dough, and another ten minutes to cook them in the oven.
After freezing the treats overnight, we took them to the New Rochelle Humane Society the next morning and gave the treats to the dogs personally. Luckily, they absolutely loved them, and we had enough to make each dogs' day!
Since it was so successful, we hope to make this a monthly affair for our club.

If you have a different one, I'd love to see it!
We actually didn't use that recipe from the site, but we did some googling and found some really good recipes. Here is a peanut butter recipe and a banana recipe that we used. Both were really easy!
Peanut Butter:
1 ½ cups water
½ cup oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup oats
Banana:
1 1/2 cup Quick Oats
3 Tablespoon Oil
1 cup Water
1-2 bananas
2/3 cup Wheat Germ
3 Tablespoon Honey
2 1/2 Cup Wheat flour
