Ballroom Dancing and Health

Healthy Living

As described by WebMD, Ballroom Dancing is more than just learning the steps to various dances, it gets the heart pumping and the muscles working!!! More or less, it brings a smile to your face and can relieve stress. Ballroom Dancing is a positive attribute to both your mental and physical well-being. I have been dancing for quite some time now and the more I do it, the better I feel. Sure it is a social benefit, but nothing makes me feel better and healthier. I have been told over and over about the great shape that I am in and I know that it is all because of Ballroom Dancing. This is why I have started my own nonprofit organization, Dance Beyond Limits, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. Dance Beyond Limits, Inc. is dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities, persons who are hard of hearing and inner city youth through Ballroom Dance. Ballroom Dance has given me so much that I truly believe all should be afforded the opportunity to experience it. I feel like I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a Ballroom Dancer and I wanted to pass that on. So, keep dancing, keep smiling and keep passing the word. We will all be dancing the Tango before long!!!
