Encouraging youth to stay in school

Education

What are some good ways you guys can think of that schools, communities and friends can do to keep youth in school? <3

Staying in School

staying in school can be tough for people under certain circumstances. It's a good idea to reach out to people thinking about dropping out in a personal, friendly way. And see if there's anything you can do to help him or her. Some girls drop out because they are pregnant or having a baby soon. but usually there are schools in the local area for soon-to-be mothers.

SCHOOL IS COOL

America's youth are the future leaders of the nation. It is crucial for youth to realize their importance for the country's futre as well as their life. Many student overlook the fact of how important education is. Those who are young people of the community and are successful use their brilliance and success as a power to motivate and encourage other peers to follow their footsteps. In my high school I am striving to bringforth various workshops with my DoSomething Club to motivate outrisk students. It is extremely important for everyone to take action on this issue.

I think having peer groups

I think having peer groups would improve and encourage students not to drop out. They should be proctored to make sure there is a positive influence upon the people.

One of the things that I

One of the things that I think you can find useful is get your school involved with the Link Leader program. It is a program for the freshman class transition from middle to high school.

In this program, upperclassmen (juniors & seniors) are selected to be Link Leaders. Those accepted into the program, meet at the end of the summer and work together with a group of freshman on Freshman Orientation to help them ease with the process of high school to let them know that it's okay to be a freshmen. We have a two-day training session before Freshman Orientation.
