The only reason marijuana/pot/refer/whatever you wanna call it, is not legalized is because the government has not found a way to tax this product. What is the difference between this and beer/vodlka/any alcoholic beverage? If it was legalized, there would be a lot less crime and a lot more love. The only people who are against weed are a)those who have never tried it, b) those who smoked some bad stuff with seeds back in the 60s, or c) a soccer mom. Don't let the propaganda fool you. Pot is as much a drug as booze and people need to calm down.
I smoke so much pot and there is nothing wrong with that

reason why
the reason why its not legalized is because the united states is still on its 'war on drugs' and marijuana is one of the drugs on that list to prohibit.. but yes weed is less dangerous than cigarattes and alcohol and if we could get a president who understands that weed could very well be legalized.

Brooke, I'd have to
Brooke, I'd have to respectfully disagree with some of the insinuations of your post even though I completely agree with everything you have written.
Pot DOES have long term side effects. However, I think you'd find that when compared to tobacco use and drinking, they are comparatively mild. Pot is also much less addictive than either tobacco products or alcohol. I am not arguing that pot is harmless; rather, that if alcohol and tobacco is legal, than pot should be as well.
And I think your point about tax is interesting...but I have no opinion on it as of yet.
If you took the time to look
If you took the time to look into it, you'd know that pot does cause long term effects such as memory loss and damage to ones nervous system. Although it may not cause a lot of short term damage, the danger is when people get high and engage in activities such as driving. I do agree with you, however, that if the government could tax marijuana, it would probably be legalized.
