Project Description
When a Child is Empowered, Anything is Possible: In 2006 Lizzie Marie began her culinary empire at the age of 6 baking and selling all-natural "goodies" at a local farmers' market. During the summer of 2007, Lizzie Marie launched www.LizzieMarieCuisine.com to provide weekly online video presentations of cooking demonstrations. As Creative Culinary Officer (CCO) of Lizzie Marie Cuisine, Lizzie Marie selects recipes for each week's video shoots and presents them with her enthusiastic passion for cooking. Media & Community Events: The premier international on-line food community, www.iFood.tv, frequently promotes her video presentations on their homepage which has over 5 million visitors per month on their website. iFood.tv included one of Lizzie Marie Cuisine's blogs, Recipes for Success, in their new online eCookbook http://files.ifood.tv/files/iFoodcookbook.pdf Scroll to Featured Blogs and Series, then click on Recipes for Success. Lizzie Marie was recently featured on WBAL Baltimore radio report http://wbal.com/shows/durian/audio/story.asp?articleid=63585 Once a week, Lizzie provides healthy snacks to workshop attendees at a local chiropractic and wellness practice in Woodstock. In addition to her video demonstrations, Lizzie interviews local chefs, farmers and other professionals who have a direct influence in the foods provided to our community. Lizzie’s recipes, blogs, and interviews are located at http://www.ifood.tv/user/2622 Projects & Goals: Lizzie Marie is in talks with a local children’s hospital, an area family obesity program and elementary schools creating opportunities where she will be an Ambassador of Healthy Living and teach children and adults how to be healthy by offering recipes and tips to create healthy, simple and delicious meals using all-natural and fresh ingredients. She is currently creating two cookbooks. One cookbook is for her Girl Scout troop. The other cookbook is a healthy lifestyle cookbook designed to bridge a gap by educating both children and adults the importance of adopting a long-term healthy lifestyle and eating healthy foods using a commonsense approach: eat clean (high-quality, fresh foods), move more (exercise); consume less (portion control). Lizzie’s goals include partnering with foundations to promote healthy living and attending Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris.
