Seatbelts

Smart Driving

What can we do to make other people see how important seatbelts are? A friend of mine died because she wasn't wearing her seatbelt, and her mom said she usually did wear it. I know that even people who usually wear their seatbelts sometimes don't wear it when there in the backseat or going for a short drive. I used to not wear my seat belt sometimes befor this happened. I would love to start some sort of program. I was thinking that I could do something by giving out purple ribbons (purple was her favorite color) for people to put on their seatbelts so they remember to wear them. What do you think we could do? If people remembered to wear their seatbelts there would probally be less deaths.
Yes, I know that drunk driving and reckless driving are also important topics, but this just hits close to home for me.

I learned my lesson

I was in a bad car accident once without a seatbelt on. i had a busted lips, a huge cut in the front of my head (that i was SUPOSSED to get stiches for) and overall i looked and felt horrible. I was just really happy to be alive

heres some ideas:

Maybe you could put up posters around your school with cool messages on it about wearing your seatbelt. You might already have the posters just saying "WEAR YOUR SEATBELT", made by teachers and such, but nobody really cares for them. But if a student or students try showing the school the importance of it, maybe your voice will be heard. I agree, wearing seatbelts do save many lives.

~~Hope this helped

well most states have

well most states have seatbelt laws, no?
