Drug education within schools

Drug Abuse

Hi I have just formed a new project, called The Misuse of Youth, We are predominately about drug abuse but, were branching out to cover a whole host of topics that young people come across. Our motto is 'the key to prevention is education', we travel schools giving talks and opening up discussions using art, poetry and true life experience. We are always looking for new members to give talks or just raise awareness. I would like to talk to anybody who would like to get involved.

Great!

And the tragic death of Heath Ledger brings to light the danger of prescription drugs when not used as specified. Perhaps your organization should take this opportunity to educate youth about the growing problem of the abuse of prescription drugs.

Great

Sounds like this should be a bigger project!

Sounds like a really great idea!
Maybe you could both create a website to share these types of stories...

in all honesty... i feel the

in all honesty... i feel the drug education programs (ie. DARE) currently in place are not particularly effective and i'm not sure if any program will ever be. young teens are curious and these adventures from curiosity is all part of a learning experience. unfortunately, many get caught up in it.

i just know that we went through a drug education program and years later everyone was experimenting with drugs and alcohol and that trend has continued throughout the years.

similar

Im actually starting my own project at my school that is extremely similar to your own. I plan on going and talking to multiple advisories about my story with a drug adict and i am planning on hanging up posters and hangin gout infomational flyers. I would be willing to also help with your project if you need any help.
