Pregnant Teens want Maternity Leave

Teen Pregnancy

Pregnant students in a Denver high school are asking for at least four weeks of maternity leave so they can heal and bond with their newborns without being penalized with unexcused absences. Should this request be granted? Should teen dads get paternity leave too?

I would say no....because a

I would say no....because a baby needs more than one month of fulltime mothering when it is first born. if she gives birth between semesters she should just take the following entire semester off. If it is in the middle of a semester, she should be given the option to take the time off and begin in the new semester where she left off (that would equal out to an entire semester off) or simply redo her courses.

In college or university proffessors will not reward credit for giving birth. You will have the opportunity to redo courses, do self study or online courses. The rules should be the same for highschool.

I personally think that the mother of the child should be able to get maternity leave. The dads on the other hand no. The baby needs the mom more then the day because she has to feed and care for the child. I think they should have to do some work while they are out of school its not that hard to work on classes while being at home.
