In California, where I live, there is a ban on texting and calling while driving. It is a great plan, but it's not well enforced and I still see people doing it all the time. Every time I go out there is someone who cuts me off or swerving because they think their call is more important than my life.

learn to write with proper grammar and spelling before voting, they should not let the uneducated vote.

i honestly think that they should ban cell phone usage when driving. It's one of the reasons I'm so afraid to learn how to drive. There are so many people out there who think their invincible, who never pay attention to the road.For God sake, there are people who drive with there knees and there is no law that stops them, there is no perfect punishment, so others end up paying for their stupidity with their lives.
Four teenage girls got killed in my town for texting while driving, i dont see the point in doing it, but teens and young adults are getting stupid. Im 18 and have better common sense then anyone my age.
Texting is dangerous, but if you have a blootooth or a car that is bluetooth accesible, you can safely talk, as well as drive.
Okay here n kansas we on the mayors youth council are trying 2 change the law. 2nd we should stop using the word "retared" because it offends me and a lot others. And stop bringing eachother down. Laws such as these are used to protect the driver and the others on the road. Those who do not understand that are those that are unable to comprehend that even when you think you are in control unknown factors are needed to be calculated into the situation, and when that is taken into consideration we should understand that we are not really in control of anything.

My brother, a teen driver, texts while driving and get angry when i tell him to put it away. I hope that all states pass a " no texting law" so he doesn't become another statistic
To a point this just gets to be really stupid. Are people so adicted to something that was around since the 90s and is just getting popular now that they can't stop for 15 minutes to drive? Its like they have no life outside of their phones sometimes! If your SOOO adicted to texting with friends and being "social" why don't you get one of those things you can plug into your radio that plays through your cars speakers? Sure it costs money. But your life doesn't, so you can't buy it back. u c wat im sayin?

Texting and driving at the same time is very dangerous. As soon as you pull out your phone everything around you disapears which causes big problems. Many of my friends have wrecked because of texting while driving. My opinion is a law should indeed be passed.
Its just not safe to text and drive. The law will protect us from any danger out there.
Too many great ideas are executed poorly. If we're going to pass these laws, they have to be enforced or else people won't take them seriously. Otherwise, there's not much point in doing it.

texting and driving is unsafe, and people should not do it, but I don't think it is okay for the national government to micromanage all of the state governments by forcing them to pass this law. a federal government that is too involved is never a good thing.
