Young Global Leaders wants YOU!

The Young Global Leaders has started a campaign to get you in on shaping the future. I mean, you will inherit the world, right?

What is it?

The Youth Task Force involves a campaign to solicit feedback from young people under 25 around the globe. The focus is to get you to provide input to the Global Redesign Initiative of the World Economic Forum. So how do you offer this feedback?

  1. Town hall meetings in partnership with select universities and community partners around the globe with attendance open to young people like you who submit meaningful comments online.
  2. Online through social media including video, live chats and discussion forums.

Why?

  • Because your generation will inherit the world that the adults are creating and you need to be part of the process of envisioning and shaping the future.
  • Young people are part of the solution, not part of the problem. And, the truth is that all sorts of issues arise when young people aren't engaged, including a rise in unemployment, violence, depression and all sorts of other social problems.
  • Albert Einstein said it well: we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that created them. Young people can offer a fresh perspective on issues and provide valuable insight into thinking about today’s world problems and how we can solve them in innovative ways.
  • You have also grown up in a digital age with unprecedented access to information. You can go online and reach out to people across the world. Generations of yesteryear couldn’t do that. All this access to knowledge has made you the most socially conscious and active segments of the population. You’re concerned about social and environmental issues and want to do something about them. Well, here’s your chance.

Between now and December 16th 2009, YGL and the World Economic Forum are hosting a series of online discussions about how to redesign and solve some of the world’s most pressing global challenges. Get in on the movement! Become a member of the Youth Task Force here.
