Two South Carolina teens were expelled recently for "sexual activity" aboard a bus. District officials argue that the proof is on tape but won't say what exactly the teens were doing to earn expulsion. The teens argue that the punishment was too steep for what they were doing although they admit to breaking school rules. What do you think? Should they sue? If something like this happened to you, would you know your rights? [check out the article]

Throw your dirty laundry somewhere else. We ask that you don't curse or use other inappropriate language here (if you have to think too hard about using a word, you probably shouldn't). they should sue
School districts across the country often abuse student's rights. But part of this new culture of teaching obedience and quelching curiosity means that student's don't fight back because they don't know they can. Student's at my school sued our school district for trying to prevent the starting of a Gay-Straight Alliance. Schools (and perhaps courtrooms as well) should realize that we shouldn't automatically use the maximum penalty. This is something that has the potential to ruin these kid's lives! :D-nick
