We’ve gotten a ton of report backs telling us about the awesome sauce school supply drives you guys have been running! Check out this interview with DoSomething.org member Patrick Spurlock about the work he’s doing.
I signed up for Staples for Students because I wanted to help out kids. When I realized that over 16 million students don't have supplies I want to help out and make the number less.
I made my own flyer that I delivered around my neighborhood. Also reach out to professionals in my town, such as an Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist. I posted my flyer on Facebook. I posted a lot of information about Staples for Students and where you can drop off the supplies.
My goal is to collect over a 1,000 supplies! As of right now I did not achieved it.
When you start this drive make sure that you plan everything beforehand. Also make sure you ask your friends to help out and spread the word around. Also post on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Etc. because it help get the word out quickly and around to people in different states
