More information on teen pregnancy*

Part of growing up means making decisions and sometimes hard life choices. It comes with the territory of being a teen. We’re not here to tell you how to live your life, it’s up to you to make the decision that’s best for you. We’ve provided you a list of resources so you can check out all your options:

*Disclaimer: The best way to prevent teen pregnancy is to not have sex (duh). Whether you choose to have sex or not, it's important to know the facts, so we've provided a list of different resources so that you can inform your own decisions.

Waiting

Not having sex is the only 100% effective way to prevent teen pregnancy and STIs. There are a lot of reasons people decide to wait. Check out these resources to find more information on waiting for girls and for guys.

Contraception and safe sex

If you’ve decided to have sex, make sure to practice safely and responsibly in order to prevent an unplanned pregnancy, STIs and STDs. There are a ton of different ways to stay protected, so make sure to find the one that works best for you. Check out these resources to find out more on protecting yourself and your partner.

Know Your Rights

All states have different laws in terms of receiving sexual health services. For example, all 50 states allow minors to consent to STI services without parental permission. Check out this resource from the Guttmacher Institute to see what rights you have in your state.

Teen Parents

Are you a teen parent? Thanks for checking out this page, we want to provide you resources to support you and your family. questions?

Why Should I do this?

Having a child is a wonderful thing for many people, but becoming a teen parent can have a big impact on your day to day life. By sharing this with your friends you can help them think about a subject that could use a bit more consideration.

What do you do with my friend’s number?

We will send the Pregnancy Text to your friends’ cell phones. They will have the option whether they’d like to take it. We’ll never give out your friends’ info!

What will friends be sent?

Your friends will be sent different situations they might be in if they were raising a baby. An example message would be: “FLARP. Was that a poop or a fart? One way to find out!”

How long is the challenge?

The challenge starts the morning after you accept the challenge and lasts for one day. You’ll receive approximately 10 text messages.

How do I win a $3,000 scholarship?

In order to qualify, sign up and send 6 of your friends a digital baby.
