MLK's Dream

Discrimination

Forty years after his assassination, many argue that Dr. King's dream remains unfulfilled. One has to wonder considering the facts: 45% of black children are living below the poverty line, compared with 16% of white children, and there are more black men in jail than there are in college.

Check out Dr. King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech here ...

And when you're done, tell us what do you think? Is racial discrimination a thing of the past?

Yes... And No.

Well, it depends on how you see it. Racial discrimination still happens, just like discrimination among the sexes, but it's certainly down in the last 100 years- that you can honestly say. But if you look at some parts of his speech, about the white children and black children being able to play together and live together, etc.,etc. as well as other things, consider that now. It happens, and it's a good thing that at least that part of his vision was fulfilled if not all of it.
