I was talking to one of my coaches who is an EMT and she said that many people that she works with are elderly people. It's because she said the reason why was because the elderly people who have no one to come and visit them get completly neglected. They might not take a shower for a week! Many times they get sick and can be helped if they get immediate response. But, since they aren't properly taken care of, it is usually too late for them and they die. It is sad how the elderly people are treated and there should be shown more respect and proper care in the last years of their life.
