Killing innocent unborn babies is not something that I support!

I agree- each baby has a right to live! It'd be better to have US tax payers support families in other countries who decide to either raise their kids or choose adoption rather than support killing innocent unborn children!

There are so many factors involved with this. In some countries a women gets raped every 1.5 minutes. In other countries, a large percentage of 12-16 year old girls who were raped, were raped by their fathers or other close relative.

Abortion is a sensitive issue, but all options should be available to a 14 year old girl, who was raped.

I support it.

I agree with with MissDee on this, a women she have the choice to get an abortion, its not yours, its not her families, or religion, ITS HERS!!! These poor girls who were raped and got pregnant because of this should have the right for an abortion, what if you were in this situation, of course right now you would say no, but what about then? AND YOU KNOW WHAT, STOP WITH THE RELIGION! WHO EVER SAID GOD BELIEVED THAT WOMEN SHOULD OBAY THEIR HUSBANDS, OR THAT GAY PEOPLE ARE WRONG FOR THIS PLANET, CAUSE THERE NOT! IT'S YOU WHO IS SCREWING UP THIS WORLD, ITS YOU WITH ALL YOUR TALK ABOUT NO GAY RIGHTS, OR THAT WOMEN SHOULD OBAY THEIR HUSBANDS! AND YOU KNOW WHAT, NO ONE IS LISTENING TO YOU!!! WOMEN STILL HAVE THEIR MINDS! THEY DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU ABOUT WHAT AND WHAT NOT TO DO!

I support OBAMA!!!
P.S.- HAVE A MIND OF YOUR OWN!!!!! DON'T FALLOW WHAT THIS BOOK TELLS YOU TOO, WHO EVEN SAID GOD BELIEVES IN HALF THE THING IN THAT BOOK!!

I disagree, overpopulating is unnecessary and bringing babies into this world that cannot be properly cared for is just as horrible as killing them.

Think for yourself. Not only is that a great Beatles song, but it's a thing that we all should do. NYGL sounds like they are talking about Christanity.. I'm a member of the Wiccian faith. In Wicca, the rules are Harm None, and Karma (The Rule Of Three). We believe that you can't force someone to believe in God, and that you can do what you want, as long as it's ethical. We believe that woman and man are equal, and need the other. Sexual oriantation is just the way you are. Not a sin, or anything. Oh, and that there's no devil. Giving a name to something evil gives it power. No heven or hell, but reincarnation. I believe that you should be able to choose what you do. I support Obama, too. He's actually a Baptist Christian. And Islam actually is pretty darn big on peace. I've been doing a homeschool report on religions of the world, and Islam is not what lots of people thing (like Wicca, there are lots of rumours and lies), and just because there are Muslim terrorist groups, dosen't mean that the whole religion is evil. How's about this for the world: No pollution, no anger, no racism, no sexism, no discrimination period, no war, right to choose (an abortion), no anger over religion, Peace, love, understanding, respect, equal rights, music for all, happiness, and the right to do what you want as long as you respect each other!!! "

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"
-John Lennon, in the song Imagine

He's got a point. Lots of wars are started about religon, the belief that this or that religion is the ONE AND ONLY religion, or that people in such and such religion are evil and must die, or something like that. I don't believe in a one and only religion, and any positive religion can give you the spiritual support you'd like. And killing someone, evil or not, would make you evil, too.

NO ONE WINS A WAR!!!!!

Alright, I disagree that tax payer money should be spent on supporting abortions over seas. First off, I think that tax payer money could be spent on much better things, such as, oh i don't know! Maybe helping out the people that are already alive instead of just killing others right on the spot. Now, onto the over used, pro-choice argument that raped women should be able to have an abortion. Now, I can sympathize for these women that had such a horrible crime done to them, HOWEVER, rape is in fact farely rare and only accounts for less than 5% of all pregnacies. I mean, if it was only raped victims that received abortions, I'd actually be semi-okay with the idea of an abortion. However, the truth of the matter is that most of the women that get abortions do so because they made the wrong choices and got themselves pregnant, and now want to kill their baby. But why should be baby suffer for its parents' stupid mistakes? And going back to the women who are raped should have an abortion topic: did you know that in a survey on raped women and them wanting abortions, only 15% of the women actually wanted an abortion. Most of them said that they, the victim, didn't want to now become the victimizer. So what, now that's only 15% of 5% of pregnacies throughout the world. That's less than 1% of the total pregnacies that most pro-choice supporters use for their argument on why they think abortion is right. If you ask me, that's not enough. Not even close! So, as you can see, just about all abortions are for women who made the wrong choice, and now want an easy and very wrong way out of it.
And also, I'm actually all for women's freedom of choice. However, I believe that women should choose when DURING THE ACT OF BECOMING PREGNANT, not afterward when they're already pregnant and are wanting to take their baby's life for their wrong choices.

Hmmm, liberal who was in favor of infinticide that most liberals or democrats would never even go that far, That the whole world worships as the messiah, And (being unsure of his citizenship) the first thing he does is open the borders and lets our money flow out to other countries killing more human lives... Hmmm, anyone else catching on to this.. ?

Um, Hello? WE NEED OUR MONEY. IN AMERICA. I can't believe he hasn't gotten more criticism for this. Or else someone else have stopped him

And um, to NYGL, whoever said anything about religion? And what book? And um, what's this about "woman obeying their husbands"? " IT'S YOU WHO IS SCREWING UP THIS WORLD, ITS YOU WITH ALL YOUR TALK ABOUT NO GAY RIGHTS, OR THAT WOMEN SHOULD OBAY THEIR HUSBANDS! "

...
wtheck?

dear, have you gone off your rocker?

Ok, first off, what if the MEN didn't want to listen their wives?

Yes, in the Christian Bible, it says in Eph. 5:22 "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord." But the MAN is charged with much more than that (...if that's what you're worried about ?)

He's charged with:
1. To love her (Eph. 5:25)
2. To honor her (1 Peter 3:7)
3. To trust her (Prov. 31:11)
4. To praise her (Prov. 31:28)
5. To sancify her (1 Corinth. 7:14)
6. To protect her (Ruth 1:9)
7. To provide for her (1 Tim 5:8)
8. To teach her (1 Corin. 14:34, 35)
9. To cheer her (Ecc. 9:9)
10. To befriend her (SOS 5:16)

And that's just the list for being a husband. There's a whole 'nother list for being a dad.

But I mean seriously. If you don't want to obey your husband, then don't marry him in the first place.

And secondly, What is this 'Book' you talk about? The Bible? Well, the Bible defination is "divinly inspired" And, taken back to the Greek, "Inspried" means "God-breathed." They were a sec of documents and writings that have been proven archeologically true. (Check out the book "Joesphus," a secular Jew scholor in the time of Jesus.) Or, check out the history of Joesph. (Y'know, the Coat of Many Colors?) and see what they discovered;)

But yeah, technodude4all is right. The whole, 5% - 15% - 1%. I mean, it's sad that it does happen though, as I imagine it hits a nerve with some people out there, who might be reading this..

BUT, getting back on topic, "many people mistakenly feel that abortion is a "religious" issue. But it is not. It is a scientifc issue, and specifically, a biological issue." http://www.johnankerberg.org/Articles/apologetics/AP0705W3.htm

Check it out!

A nation that does not repect life will not respect other human rights.

The following is graphic, I dont suggest reading it for younger teens or anyone who is emotionally sensitive on the subject. Once I read it i became very emotional. The reason I am posting this is I believe all people who support abortions should know whats going on and how its done. This is what our taxdollars are paying for and if you have an opinion at least base it off knowledge not mere speculation.

This information helps me educate other teens on what EXACTLY goes on in an abortion. These are the different surgeries that are offered currently and side effects of an abortion.

RU486, Mifepristone (Abortion pill) - used within 4 to 7 weeks after the last menstrual period. - This chemical abortion procedure usually requires 3 office visits. The RU 486 pills are given to the woman to take after which she returns 2 days later for a second medication called misprostol. The first pills cause the death of the fetus, the second medication causes the uterus to contract and expel the dead baby. Bleeding and cramping are normal. Side effects may include nausea, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and back pain. One out of 100 women require surgical intervention to stop bleeding. RU 486 has recently been linked to the deaths of 7 women in the U.S. due to infection.

Manual Vacuum Aspiration - used within 7 weeks after last menstrual period. - The cervical muscle is stretched with metal rods (dilators) until the opening into the uterus is wide enough for the abortion instruments to pass through. A hand held syringe is attached to tubing that is inserted into the uterus and the fetus and placenta are suctioned out. Side effects include bleeding, infection, emotional stress.

Suction Curretage - used within 6 to 14 weeks after LMP - this is the most common abortion procedure. The abortionist opens the cervix with dilators and laminaria (thin sticks derived from plants and inserted hours before the procedure to soften the cervix). The abortionist inserts tubing connected to a suction machine. The suction pulls the fetus' body apart and out of the uterus. One variation of the procedure is called Dilation and Curretage. In this method, the abortionist may use a curette, a loop-shaped knife, to scrape the fetal parts out of the uterus. Side effects include hemorrahage, infection, perforation of the uterine wall, cervical tears, effects on later pregnancies, emotional stress.

Dilation and Evacuation (D & E) - used within 13 to 24 weeks after LMP. - Because the developing baby doubles in size between the 11th and the 12th weeks of pregnancy, the body of the fetus is too large to be broken up by suction and will not pass through the suction tubing. In this procedure, the cervix must be opened wider than in a first trimester abortion. After opening the cervix, the abortionist pulls out the fetal parts with forceps. The fetus' skull is crushed to ease removal. Side effects include hemorrahage, infection, cervical tears, perforation of the uterus, effects on later pregnancies, incomplete removal of fetus, and emotional stress.

Dilation and Extraction (D & X) - used from 20 weeks after LMP to full-term.- This procedure takes 3 days. During the first 2 days, the cervix is dilated and medication is given for cramping. On the 3rd day the woman is given medication to start labor. After labor begins, the abortionist uses ultrasound to locate the baby's legs. Grasping a leg with forceps, the abortionist delivers the baby up to the head. Next, scissors are inserted into the base of the baby's skull to create an oepning. A suction catheter is placed into this opening to suction the skull contents. The skull collapses and the baby is removed. Side effects may include hemorrahage, infection, effects on later pregnancies, and severe emotional stress.

(American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists Practice Bulletin #26, Medical Management of Abortion, Apr. 2001), (American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Induce Abortion, 2001), (Warren Hern, Abortion Practice, 1990 Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott C.), (Martin Haskell, M.D., Second Trimester Abortion: From Every Angle, paper presented at the Fall Risk Management Seminar of the National Abortion Federation, Sept. 13-14, Dallas, Tx.)

Effect on Future Pregnancy

Scarring or other injury during an abortion may prevent or place at risk future wanted pregnancies. The risk of miscarriage is greater for women who abort their first pregnancy.

Emotional Impact

Some women experience strong negative emotions after abortion. Sometimes this occurs within days and sometimes it happens after many years. This psychological response is known as Post-Abortion Stress (PAS).

Symptoms include: Guilt, anger, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, anniversary or expected date of delivery grief, flashbacks, sexual dysfuction, relationship problems, eating disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, psychological reactions. (Archives of General Psychiatry, 57 (8) 777-784)

I completely agree with anyone who said a women should be allowed to make that kind of choice by herself. For crying out loud, do you so called "pro-life" people believe it is pro-life to ruin a teen or even younger girls life by making her go through child birth and have to take care of a baby! It is HER choice and you people are beyond cruel to think it is right to force a girl to endure that and not have any say in the matter.

um...im really very familiar with the whole abortion thing...but i reallydont think its right to make someone go through that kind of pain when they are that young and NOT give them that choice...i mean you can't take away a person's rights...its unconstitutional...plus...aren't you people familiar with Ammendment #9? rights don't deny others...meaning everyone has all the other rights even if they aren't written down in detail...she has the right to an abortion and she also has the right not to have one...its her choice...its her right and they CANT take that away...i dont care who you are

whoa whoa whoa...wait a minute lil miss thang or mr thang w/e u (NYGL)...you have no right to preach about the bible...FYI god does believe everything thats in the bible otherwise why would mary have had jesus? HUH? HUH? HUH? cant answer that question can you!!! you can call people stupid and all that other stuff but dont you EVER EVER EVER talk about my creator MY FATHER that way. got it? you are incredibly lucky that its just me blowin up in your face right now because i can tell you this right now...had you said that in MY school...in MY city...in MY state you have people all over your lil butt! dont you EVER insult me or any other christian on the internet that way again. if you've got something to say about the internet go write it down on a piece of paper but dont you EVER say something like that on the internet...there are a lot more of us than u think there are and we WILL defend our religion...think before you speak missy or mister

You talk about women killing their babies, you act like it's an easy choice!
With out abortion my mother would be dead! DEAD!! She regards that decision as the hardest of her life!
So you with your closed minded heat full opinions should think about who your herding when you post things!

There is a star in the sky with the name of my mother's unborn son; my brothers name!
Abortion has touched me in a way it never touched you!

So don't act like I don't know what I'm talking about, don't act like you know what it is that mothers are thinking when they have an abortion!
And stop saying heat full things!

My mom lived in the deep south all her life *All very christian*. At age 18 she went off to college and unexpectedly got pregnate. I was her mistake. I am the mistake that reminders her every single day of what she shouldnt have done. She even told me that she would take it back if she could.

However, my mom married my dad to do the right thing. She could have aborted me, easily. In fact my grandmother encouraged her too. She was on her way to becoming a very talented advertiser, she was planning on moving to New York.

Instead she chose life. She chose to have me, I could not be here..right now.

Do you have any idea how that makes me feel?

Do you have any idea how much I feel I have a tie to those children who didnt/dont make it, like I did? Someone has to stand up for them.

*its americas silent holocust*

Also all of you should be ashamed with the way you talk hateful to each other. This is not the way to explain your position. You do NOT force your view or beliefs by shoving it in peoples faces.

The reason i choose to defend life is because like i said earlier i feel like i have an obligation. I am one of the few that make it out under small circumstances. Also, its HUMAN LIFE!!!

We have so many young couples wanting to adopt in the United States. The waiting list is so long that it takes years and years to be able to adopt in the U.S bc we are so big on abortion.

As to rapes and insest. Yes, it is a heat renching and horrible expierence that NO woman or girl should have to go through!!! *PIERIOD*

If it should result in a child that is very unfourtunate for the young women or girl. But the horror stories that i have heard of young girls who have been talked into or decided on having abortions are numorous as the stars. I have met many women in my life that have had abortions at the ages of 14-30 and they all regret it and wish they would have had the child and given it up for adoption.

They told me that they suffered from all kinds of things from depression, anger, attemps of suicide to mental problems. I have heard it is much worse to go through the after affects of an abortion than actually physically have a child.

I think it would be much crueler to tell a 14 year old that she should have an abortion and have her go through bad side affect for the REST of her life. Instead of having the baby and allowing a couple to raise it.

As to its unconsitutional. The 9th admendment says EVERY PERSON HAS the RIGHT to LIFE, LIBERTY and THE PURSUITE OF HAPPINESS.

If anything it is unconsitutional to have abortion legal. It doesnt respect the rights of life, liberty and the pursuite of happiness of a living being. Every living person has a heart beat and therefore should have their rights protected, even if they cant speak for themselfs at the moment.

Have you ever heard of "my liberty ends where yours begins"? that means I can do *basically* anything I want as long as it doesnt conflict with your rights or liberties.

Once that heart beats, its murder, I dont care who you are or what the circumstances are. Its murder when you intentionally stop a beating heart. A babys heart starts beating at 5 weeks. The earliest you can get an abortion is at 6 weeks. At this stage many girls or women dont even know their pregnate. So please dont deny that it is taking a human life.

You can give all the worst circumstances that you can think of to make it O.K. for you to have an abortion but under no circumstance can you argue that that person cant feel. Isnt real. Or isnt a baby. Because it is.

(NYGL, your open mind has some spelling errors: it's actually spelled obEY, and "CAUSE THERE NOT" should be "THEY'RE")
Do you people realize the mess our domestic economy is in? And you really think it's OK to send American tax dollars ,now, overseas to pay for foreign abortions? I hope you have a really good, high paying, highly-taxed job and happily support this cause, because I am not happy our American money is being funneled in this direction. I would like to see our education system funded better, but hey that's just me. I suppose they can abort whole countries of babies and then we won't have to send more money to fix their schools because there will be no kids to go there.
This is not an argument over whether abortion should be legal or not. This is about tax money collected from American paychecks, going overseas to pay for abortions. Under the circumstances, I would think people would be more worried about domestic issues.

I totally depends on the age of the mother.
If it's a teenager (let's say younger then 18), then it's totally OK, to consider abortion.

If it's a mature adult around 25 or 30, abortion should not be aloud, and maybe adoption should be considered....

This topic is not an abortion rights issue it is a TAX issue.

Why is everyone being so hateful?
