You can't take guns or any other weapon away from citizens just because there are those whose choose to abuse that right. It is unfair. I do belive there should be more restrictions on being able to obtain weapons legally. If I choose to carry a firearm for protection then thae oppportunity should be made available to me. It takes a coward to shoot someone with a gun.

I dont think they should take guns away. See i think that most gun shootings are from people who get easy guns from the streets. Only people who have permits should have the right to have a gun. But thats just what i think
I understand that guns are used as protection weapons, but plenty of people are using them for more than just protection.... murder. it is unfair for an innocent person to have their life taken just because someone else thinks it is okay to go around shooting people. violence is never the answer to anything. i think guns should be only kept in the hands of the police.
Law abiding citizens should always have the right to own weapons for the sake of protection.
Think about it: if guns are illegal only law abiding citizens will not have guns but criminals will still obtain them through black markets.
If guns are made illegal then all we are doing is stripping the ability of innocent people to protect themselves and contributing to murder.
I think that there should be VERY heavy restrictions on gun ownerships.

I understand that some people use guns to protect their selves, but there is too much violence going on, that is dealing with guns. My honest opinion is that guns are just plain dangerous. I have nothing against them,and I don't think that they are safe.

For protection they should have guns that don't necessarily kill but inflict extreme pain after all murder is a sin....
of course guns are dangerous to society, especially if they fall in the wrong hands but it isnt fair to take guns away from those who have done nothing wrong. I myself have a hobby associated with guns. they are beautiful items and i treasure them. It would be a great loss to me if they were taken away.
people are saying that guns are used for protection and i understand that but if everyone did not carry a gun there would be less of a chance that you would need to protect yourself
Guns should be a regulated privilage, background checks and regular sanity checks would prevent the crazies from getting guns. Having deposits for law enforcement and military to turn in their guns at the end of the day would prevent off duty violence. I don't think that guns should be taken away completely but we should definately make it harder for someone to use one in an improper way.
ok, i honestly DO NOT understand the whole guns for protection. What do you need protection from? leave the "protecting" to qualified people who know what they're doing. and the way i see it the more guns there are the more possibilities there are of people getting mad and just shooting someone in a fit of rage.
To me, this is a very controversial topic. But think of it this way. Since guns where made we have been hearing more and more about accidental deaths, intentional violence, and many other cases where guns are involved and it ends in death. I am just to sad to see another child to die because of someone else's negligence when it comes to their gun. I don't think that guns should be taken away from people who would like them but I do think that gun laws should be more straight forward and should be cracked down on. People may have a right to own a gun but it should not be as easy as it is to obtain that gun. That is just unbelievable. Teens and kids are finding guns in garbages, on the street, and even at school. That is completely unsafe for everyone. I don't care if love guns and you own a million of them but when it gets in the hands of a child who doesn't know any better then it becomes my concern. Kids should not have to be taught about guns in school. I should've never become that big of an issue. We should be able to focus on our education but the sad truth is that school is becoming less and less about learning. It makes me somewhat afraid for the future.
