If they get it serves them right for first -being a drug addict and second -sharing the needles. iether they will live and learn or die and take their stupidity with them. i only feel sorry for thoes they leave behind who will have to suffer the sorrow and loss because of they're stupidity.

Most of these addicts have no idea whether or not they HIV - AIDS. And trying to pervent the spread of such a terrible disease isn't going to encourage these people. It doesn't serve them right for getting HIV, yeah doing drugs is a terrible thing but some people get into drugs accidently. And then they're afraid to ask for help. And if you really felt sorry for the people the addicts are leaveing behind you'd want to help these people. And having programs to help them get over their addictions isn't saying, "it's okay to do these things." It's showing them that they're people who care, because a lot of them probably feel alone and unwanted. And they may even regret their decisions so the best we can do for them is help stop what they were doing and prevent others from even starting.
I believe that drug use will happen no matter what and we should try to protect everyone we can from the spread of HIV/AIDS. I think if it helps decrease the spread of this horrible disease than why not!
We should just quarantine individuals with HIV/AIDS until we find a cure to stop the disease from spreading. Then drug users don't have to worry about that.

I think that needle exchange programs are a great idea. An addiction can be cured-- HIV cannot.
