I went to a school that required a laptop in 6th grade, and many kids played games, watched videos, emailed, and all that stuff, but it was also really helpful and I leaned better that way! But I think that older kids should be able to handle it, even though we didn't and the school should pay for those who can not afford it. Like an ipad textbook or something smaller...
