South African runner Caster Semenya has been placed on suicide watch.
Last week it was leaked that tests found she is a hermaphrodite. Now a South African lawmaker said: "If she commits suicide, it will be on all our heads." Did the media take this too far?

Why did the whole world need to know the results? The media is so dumb and heartless.
I feel so bad for this young woman. It's not her fault that she was born with different characteristics than the rest of us. Ugh, this makes me so angry...

As a runner I can't even imagine the feeling of training and sacrificing so much for so long to compete on a world stage and be told it was all for not.
And at that very same moment have deeply personal information shared on a World stage.
What really defines gender anyway? so she was born with both parts, her parents decided to make her a woman it doesnt matter what media says she is what she is and it is outrageous to say shes not.
and something so personal shouldnt be shared with the general public. i mean she is considering suicide?
