Short Description:
How to shop animal-cruelty free.

A lot of things we wear (i.e. leather, silk, wool) come at the expense of animals. Here are some tips to follow on your shopping spree that will ensure that your new threads are animal-cruelty free.

Be on the lookout. Some common products that use animal materials are:

  • shoes
  • coats
  • purses and bags
  • sports equipment

Look for animal-free words. Search labels for terms like:

  • faux
  • pleather
  • man-made materials
  • synthetic

Check the price tag. Synthetic materials will commonly cost less (pleather costs less than leather). If you're unsure, ask a sales person what the product is made from.
