Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman spoke at the RNC last night along with President and Laura Bush, but the most rousing speech of the evening came from former Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson.
Thompson is a former Tennessee senator, who competed with McCain for the Republican party’s nomination, but he is known by most voters for his roll on NBC’s "Law & Order."
Thompson fired up the Republican crowd calling Obama “the most liberal, most inexperienced nominee to ever run for president.” He said that Obama’s real skills amounted to no more than giving a “teleprompter speech designed to appeal to American critics abroad." But he got the most applause, when he said the country needs a president "who doesn't think that the protection of the unborn or a newly born baby is above his pay grade." Obama recently said that it was "above my pay grade" to decide the point at which an unborn child is entitled to rights.
