Last Minute Father's Day Activities

Teen with dad

Not to throw your weekend TV marathon plans outta whack, but Sunday is Father’s Day. Don’t stress. We've got a butt-load of ideas that are low-cost, thoughtful, and good for both Dad and the world.

  1. Sign up [1] for DoSomething.org's I <3 Dad and have your dad get his blood pressure tested.
  2. Take him out to the ball game. (It's better in real life than on TV.)
  3. Organize a family sports game. Make it Dads vs. Kids, with the winners getting this week's right to the remote control.
  4. Cook a meal. (Mom will appreciate this one too.)
  5. Volunteer.  [2]Ideas include [2] local soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or nursing home and help others in need.
  6. Spring cleaning take 2. Find things around the house you guys can donate.
  7. Break out the tools and green your home [3].
  8. Got a green thumb? Buy a bunch of tomato, string bean and cucumber seeds, and plant a vegetable garden.
  9. Get him a new four-legged best friend. Adopt a dog or cat at your local shelter.
  10. Go to the beach. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen (Sunburn=pain).
  11. Take a hike. Go outside and explore your surroundings.
