Peyton Manning fans are going to have to show their appreciation in a new way, because wearing his jersey is no longer an option. At least for one Colorado school district.
Students like third-grader Konnor Vanatta who wore the jersey to school were told the shirts were banned. Why? Because of gang affiliation with certain numbers. (Yikes.)
The policy has been around for over three years, according to a Weld County District 6 spokesperson. But 18 isn’t the only taboo number – 13, 14, 31, 41, and 81 also made the list.
"We're Broncos fans ourselves; it has nothing to do with that. We're just wanting to set a consistent solid, example," said district spokesperson Roger Fiedler.
