The Problem

I want to be able to start a teen center in my local hometown. I hate seeing the majority of my peers from high school going out every weekend just to drink or do drugs. They need something better to do with their time. For 3 years now, I've been trying to get this idea up and running. I have been featured in the local paper and have proposed ideas to the city's chamber of commerce and city's board members. There just wasn't any help coming from anyone except good luck. I don't personally have enough funding to rent or own a building right now. Tons of ideas have ran through my mind on what to do with the place. I also want to hold mini concerts, dances, or movie nights at the city park. I just want something to be available to younger generations once they get into jr. high or high school, because if there isn't anything these kids are just going to keep repeating the pattern of drinking and doing drugs. Thoughts have been to open after school games and on weekends and certain times for different age groups. During the summer, the center could be open more and during the day as well. I have lots of big and innovative ideas but finding the help to get this lifted off the ground is another story.
