Many kids that are in schools today, are subjected to a certain image that their peers have created. Many kids and parents can not afford to provide the " cool" clothing. So many of them drop out. Or many of them simply can not afford food, do not qualify for assistance, or have subjected themselves to the ways of the world in their weight image. My goal is to provide food to those who need it, clothing that is ok to wear, not necessarily the most expensive kind, and hygeine products to keep the kids healthy. I'm also working on putting together a Christmas project, where people in the community donate their clothes completely free for others to wear. Also I'm working on providing a warm Christmas meal for the families who need it. My goal is to show kids that it's not the quality or quantity of things, it's that who you are, and what you are, you don't have to be expected to change. People care more about them, then how they look. To show them that used clothes are the same as new, and it's the thought of the season. This grant would mean a lot to me and these families, and can help make my other project come true.
