The first thing I did was talk to the coordinator at the shelter. I made a few phone calls to make visits and to see what we were going to work with.
Next, I took measurements of the closet to see how much we could fit inside. then we bought the materials that we needed to make these shelves.( it also helps to ask the stores for donations so you yourself doesn't have to waste alot of your own money) it took us 3 days to build two big shelves that can hold moter than enough stuff.
after we finished building, we loaded them onto our truck and set them in place.
For the pillows the first thing we did was try to estimate how many children could there be. once we had that we wanted to buy fabrics that represented the different age groups and buy a range of fabrics for toddlers to actual teens. once we did that, we stuffed sowed and handled with care for a week, then the next week later deliver them to the kids. it sounds very simple but it took me about 6-9 months to prepare, get ready, and finish. it was alot of hardwork, but it was other every drop of sweat.
