DIva/Suave Project

My name is Ashley and I am a 22 year old entrepreneur, student and leader of Minneapolis, MN. I started a business called Diva Rags at the age of fifteen where I began designing head scarves. Now I have added Suave Clothing, which is geared toward customized apparel and shoes. I re-design old or new shoes and clothing help people who aren't financially stable or who would like to work with what they have. In addition to the business I have started a program, which is called the Diva Suave Project where I am teaching the youth about nutrition, hygiene, self-esteem, morals, values, integrity, entrepreneurship, leadership, and breaking the chains of mental slavery by pursuing education. This past summer several teens graduated from the program, which was an eight week session focusing on the topics I just mentioned. I have been on a mission to give back to my community in a big way. I serve as a role model for the youth and when they see me they automatically think they can live their dream also. The ultimate goal is to inspire, uplift, direct and support the youth, "our future". I am only a piece of the puzzle and in order to for positive change to exist we must work as a collective.
