When you think of high school or look back on it, what do you see? I want to be able to look back on my high schools years and not only have memories and fun times, but be proud that I achieved in things that meant something to me. At my high school there is a special physical education class for students who have physical or mental problems. This class is also open for high school students who need another class or enjoy work with students of that nature. The class not only teaches the students how to act around special need children but what its like to be in their shoes. I took this class as a junior and it was really an eye opener. I learned how these children thought and learned. It wasn’t the same way a normal high school student (if there is such a thing as a normal high school student) would operate. One of the student’s favorite games to play in the gym class was kick ball, where we would split up into two teams, kick the ball and try to get to the next base without being tagged. This was an amazing class for me I truly feel it helped me with my social skills (my connection with people), patients and most of all my future. This class showed me that I am great with children with physical and emotional problems and helped me decide what I want to go to school for.
