We've built an alliance with urban agriculturalists throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens that we have collaborated with to determine which machines are the most immediately necessary for their operations and we've set out to design / build them. At the moment we are focused on composting and have identified a set of four machines that will make the process more efficient and have no reliance upon non-renewable energies. These machines include a leaf and twig shredder, a fine compost sifter, a wet material shredder and a heavy-duty cargo tricycle for picking-up food scraps, delivering compost to other farms/gardens and moving just about anything that weighs up to 1000 lbs. We have successfully built 2 prototypes but need to redesign them in order to maximize their energy output -- shredding leaves using your muscles is not the easiest task. We'd also like to start designing the other two machines we've conceived. Since our machines are human-powered, not only are they good for the environment, but they are great for getting healthy and fit.
