With A Few #hashtags (and Status Updates)

The Problem

We want to create a somewhat educational film showing the dangers of intense social media usage to promote bullying, wreak havoc, and how it can destroy lives and futures- all before college. Based on actual events that happened in and around the 3 high schools in our city, we were watching a bullying film and couldn't help but notice how powerful the message was, but how uninterested the rest of our class behaved. We noticed that when adults make films, they can't truly relate to what was going on, therefore, teens were disinterested. But when little student made skits/shows came on the school TV, they were engaging more, as opposed to an adult being on the screen talking about bullying and social media. So the idea for "With A Few #hashtags" came into being.

Plan of Action

We've organized a group of writers, producers, and actors. We want to enter this into as many youth film festivals and film festivals as we possibly can, and promote it everywhere so people can see the dangers of it. We're trying to fundraise money for a new camera, editing software, a few additional pieces of technology (sound mic, lighting, etc), copyright clearances, and a few items of clothing. We would start as soon as we can raise enough money, which will hopefully be soon.
