The Problem

Our mission is to aid in stress relief AND Relaxation by providing high-tech and interactive games to the men and women serving abroad to protect our freedom. Many of our service men and women are gamers who rely on game play for entertainment, stress relief, and morale boost both stateside and during deployment. Studies show that thirty minutes of playing games can reduce stress levels significantly by giving the hands and mind something active in which to partake. Stress is something that plagues many adults. In fact the American Psychological Association reports that 43 percent of adults suffer adverse health effects from stress, and 75 to 90 percent of all physician office visits have stress-related components Clearly, troops serving wartime deployments are especially prone to high stress levels. Unfortunately, sometimes the stress can be too much to handle. The Pentagon recently reported that active-duty soldiers committed suicide last year at the highest rate seen in 26 years. Nearly one-third of those suicides occurred while the troop was deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan. 2006 Pentagon survey assessing the mental health of troops in Iraq found one-third of soldiers and Marines in high levels of combat report anxiety, depression and acute stress. Higher stress levels among troops are also attributed to extended tours, lengthy deployments (up to 15 months), repeated tours, stop-lossing, and uncertain redeployment dates. The Iraq war, experts say, is a new kind of war - a 360-degree battle space, with no front or rear, no safe zone outside the large fortified bases, and the compounded physical uncertainty of roadside bombs (IEDs) and mortar attacks. The lack of any control over these factors only intensifies the stress for troops. We collect donations of money, video games, gaming systems, and PC games. We send games and gaming systems to
