The Problem

Homeless teens who really need clothing. We will be focusing on collecting jeans to donate to a lcoal homeless shelter, but will accept any type of clothing donated for our community. jeans. Try to make a persons day with something as simple as a pair of jeans. A homeless teen needs clothes too and something this simple would be so valuable to a person. Teens have a hard enough time trying to "fit in" with their peers. Also, this could cut down on teen shoplifting and keep them from the consiquences that follow shoplifting (includong juvenile jail time, etc,.,). My goal is to get the word out to teens and adults regarding this growing problem right here in our own community! Lets get helping our brothers and sisters! Help me help others and Make a Diferance!

Plan of Action

I plan on posting flyers and posters around my school, church, and at Kroger (where I work). I will arrange to have my school send out an email and text messsge regarding this to all students and parents. Make an announcement at school regarding this specific clothing drive. Post an insert in the church bulletin asking for everyones help. I will call the local newspaper and see about placing an ad regarding this important cause. Collect as many jeans as possible to try and make a differance and touch the lives of others. At church, i will have my youth group get involved by writing encouraging messages on index cards and place them in the pockets of the jeans we plan to donate. I hope to encourage and enlighten with a simple gift of a pair of jeans... Something you and I take for granted!
