The project started out as a final for our Leadership Studies course, but I decided to continue working on it although the class is over.
9+1 for Troops
The Problem
I am not trying to solve a problem, nor am I trying to raise awareness. I'm simply reminding others to support our troops by writing them a letter. Yeah, yeah. It's just one tiny letter. But to one soldier, it coud make a world of a difference. By sending a simple "thank you" we are helping boost their motivation and make them feel appreciated.
Plan of Action
At KSU, I had a group of people working with me. We had covered the campus with flyers and sidewalk chalk promoting our stand for Veteran's day. We had booths set up all over campus for people to stop by and write on their way to class or lunch. For the busier folks, we have a facebook account as well as an e-mail set up. I have asked many middle and high schools to assist us with this project and continue collecting letters that way. Now I have transferred schools, but am continuing to work on this project.
