Creating such a project was not easy, and still is not easy. Our principal originally came to us in 2007, and asked us to help her. All she wanted was a better way to use Microsoft Excel, but we thought we could do better than that. So we sat down and began brainstorming. We realized that there are a lot of problems in school districts across the US and in the world, that Microsoft Excel can't handle. So we brainstormed more, about all of the problems that are in school districts and how we could solve them. The overall answer was to create a web application, so the information could be accessed anywhere and at anytime, great for the education industry. A web application is highly specialized and highly technical, so we had to begin right away. There was not much time to learn programming, but it had to be done. Fast-forward to today, and our project is now district wide. Each and every day, we are saving about two hours per staff member each day. That comes out to be over 50,000 total hours saved per school year, in just staff members alone. What's even better, this isn't even including students or parents. However, our goal does not stop at our local school district, or even on a local level. We want to change the way education is done in the world.
