Last week I donated 14inches of my hair to Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics.
This is the second time I have donated my hair to locks of love. I am lucky that my hair grows fast so I know that I will not miss my long beautiful ponytail for very long. It is a great feeling to know that I will be able to help a little girl feel pretty. Having had many surgeries on my face I know how it feels to not feel pretty. After having major jaw surgery I looked a funny for about 2 years. My jaw has finally caught up with rest of my face and now I am pretty again. Locks of Love is great way for me to halp a little girl with medical problems FEEL PRETTY, and on a personal level I feel great because every time I look in the mirror at my new short haircut I am reminded that I have helped someone else.
