The Problem

Raise community awareness at local and state wide levels regarding a national public health concern. We would like to raise awareness that 1 in 88 children are now being diagnosed with Autism and early childhood intervention is critical before the age of 8 for the best lifetime outcomes. http://www.cdc.gov/Features/CountingAutism/

Plan of Action

Through the theater production: Window Pains, by Hartley Wright, a play about a family with children on the autism spectrum we will educate over 1000 individuals in our community about autism and provide available resources through our expert panel of professionals and information for early intervention and treatment. In addition, we will bring this production into schools to increase awareness and sensitivity designing a curriculum for teachers to utilize in teaching children about autism and how to increase sensitivity to this issue.
