The Problem

For too long have the voices of those with disabilities been left unacknowledged and ignored. Society continues to oppress these voices whether with good value or malicious intent. From simple peer interactions of discrimination to institutional policy that limits the rights of disabled individuals, those with disabilities are not only an oppressed group, but also a group with nearly invisible recognition.

Plan of Action

The first step to oppose this oppression is to become more aware of the problems involving those with disabilities. This can be done through self-educating oneself through the internet to research the problems these individuals must endure. The next step is to become active in the community. This can be done by forming a club at school, petitioning to reform a specific policy, or even something simple such as speaking up for an individual who is being discriminated for their disability.
