The Problem

The Prizm Project is a global organization that educates young women ages 14 to 25 about human rights and gives them the resources they need to create social change. This is done through ' retreats,' fun and intensive free-of-cost programs designed especially for young women. Through the use of native field organizers PRIZM enables young women to talk about the issues most relevant and important to their lives. The Goals of PRIZM are * To create a safe space for young women to discuss their human rights in the context of their culture * To make Human Rights Education accessible to women of all economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds * To promote awareness of Human Rights issues at home and abroad * To cultivate women's leadership by encouraging women to take social action *To create a global network of young women proficient in the field of human rights PRIZM is committed to empowering young women all over the world and is expecting to facilitate projects in Bulgaria, Bolivia, and the United States for 2007. In addition, PRIZM will be opening a Women's Center in the Teso District of Kenya this summer.
