I had to look for a band and staging. I paid for this concert by asking local businesses if they would donate money. Many businesses believed my project was a great idea and supported me by donating all of my funding. We also gave back to those businesses by putting their names on the back of the t-shirts. Once the band and the stage company was booked, it was just a matter of putting it on. I picked the date, which was November the 8th, 2008. Then I designed the t-shirt with the help of a local printing shop. I put fliers of the concert around the community and in the schools. I sold tickets during school lunches and at the door of the concert, as well. Also, I went around to local businesses to try and sell t-shirts and tickets prior to the concert.
The night of the concert I asked friends to be "staff members" and they helped me by taking up t-shirts and ticket selling at the door.
The concert was a success! Overall, I raised around $6,000! All of this was donated to the American Cancer Society.
