The Problem

Since my sophomore year of high school, my family and I have been traveling back and forth to Zacapa, Guatemala. This area, like many areas in Guatemala, is plagued by poverty. Many times, a family cannot afford simple things like shoes for the whole family; typically only the man of the house receives shoes. So, I began a project to change that.

Plan of Action

Saving Soles, an organizations that I began in 2008, aims to collect new and used shoes to distribute in extremely impoverished areas of Guatemala. So far, we have delivered over 800 pairs of shoes. However, transporting the shoes is very expensive.
