SHARE is a non-profit dedicated to empowering African girls through education. We work in Tanzania, one of the poorest nations in the world. Only 5% of Tanzanian girls graduate from high school, because all schools charge fees that are unaffordable to most families. SHARE provides thousands of girls growing up in poor, rural families in Tanzania with books, school supplies, libraries, and scholarships. But to succeed academically, students today need more than just books and pencils and paper. They need access to the world of knowledge that is available through modern technology. So, SHARE is now focusing on "bridging the digital divide" and providing African girls with computers and internet access.
