The Problem

My name is Ryan Dhindsa, and I am a freshman at Sage Ridge High school in Reno, Nevada. My classmate, Brandon Jones, and I, decided to start a Darfur fundraiser in seventh grade (2005), and since then have raised $4,000. We raised this money by selling Save Darfur merchandise which was bought for us by sponsors at school, rallies, and other public events. We were also invited to attend a Global Issues conference in Luxembourg of which schools from all over the world attended. We gave a presentation on Darfur which recieved great feedback. Our goal is to raise public awareness, and to help the innocent civilians in Darfur. We are also going to try to get other high schools involved in our city.
