The Problem

My neighborhood has a lot of poverty, crime, and and high school retention rates. These negative things are have a relationship with adult literacy. There are a lot of adults and young adults who are functionally illiterate which means they make less money, are more likely to receive public assistance and more likely to commit crimes (robbery & violent gang activity).

Plan of Action

Norman Schwarzkopf Form a non-profit organization that facilitates volunteers and students from the local colleges, and high schools teaching math, science, and reading to adults who need to grow academically in order to achieve the standard rate of literacy.
