The Problem

At the University of Tennessee Medical Center has a volunteer program for teenagers during the summer to where they can help and explore the hospital. At the hospital they can volunteer on different levels at the hospital which they can help hospital staff and patients. I have volunteered for two summers at the radiology and cancer center. I have helped nurses and doctors with important paper work. I've helped guide patients and their families around the hospital. There have been times where I've had the privilege to have one on one conversations with patients that have cancer and just to hear their heart breaking stories and try to give them comfort.
